Patanjali International Yoga Foundation (PIYF) Rishikesh India follow the rules of International Yoga education which decided by Yoga Alliance USA and the Canadian Yoga Alliance Canada have set widely-accepted International standard for Yoga Teacher Training programs which includes 200 hours across five areas of teaching: 1-Techniques, 2-Philosophy/lifestyle/ethics, 3-Teaching methodology, 4-Anatomy and Physiology, and 5-Teaching practicum. 1-Techniques:
Asana, Pranayama, Bandha, Kriya, Mantra, Mudra and DHyana (Meditation) techniques will be taught during the training. Also, trainees will learn about the benefits, checkpoints and contraindications, as well as how to teach, assist, adjust and correct others.

Asanas:
Yoga teacher trainees will learn 41 basic Asanas (postures) plus additional postures and their levels and variations. Practice includes different levels of positions according to students' abilities from gentle for beginners up to intermediate level for each Asana.
We place a lot of emphasis on adjustments, alignment, techniques, corrections, contra-indications, physical and psychic awareness, benefits, etc.
Asanas will be divided into few categories: in groups of standing and balancing asanas, forward and back bends, twisting and side bends poses, seated and inverted poses, meditation poses, etc.
All groups of Asanas will be taught from beginners to intermediate levels with their variations. Also trainees will be taught how to enter and exit asanas, how to use the breath during the position, how to ensure proper alignment in each Asana, and how to assist other trainees in their positions.

Yoga teacher trainees will learn 8 main types of Pranayama 'breathing' techniques. Each Pranayama will be taught with emphasis on technique, duration, ratio, physical and psychic awareness, contra-indications and benefits.
Teacher trainees will learn Anuloma-Viloma, Nadishodhana, Ujjai, Bhramari, Shitali, Sitkari, Bhastrika and Kapalbhati. They will also learn how to perform these Pranayamas with Bandhas (retention or Kumbhaka).
Teacher trainees will learn five techniques of each pranayama from beginners to advanced levels with explanation how to perform them and how to use for their students.

Bandhas:
The practice of Bandha refers to "controlling" and "locking' the vital energy (Prana), and directing it so as to unite the Prana and Apana Vayus to the energy channel and then into the Sushumna Nadi. We place emphasis on technique, contra-indications and benefits. We explain that it is necessary to teach and learn Mula Bandha, Jalandhara bandha, Uddiyana bandha and Maha bandha which helps to practice further Kriya, Mudra and Pranayama.

Shat Kriyas:
YTTC students (teacher trainees) will learn information and practice of the Shatkriya "six body cleansing methods": Dhauti, Basti, Neti, Nauli, Tratak and Kapalbhati with emphasis on techniques, practice and theory, variations, awareness, contra-indications, benefits, etc. We will explain how to use Kriya in daily life.

Mudras:
YTT trainee will learn and practice 8 main yogic Mudras (gestures) according to Shatchakra and energy channels from Hathayoga books.

Dhyana (Meditation):
YTT students will learn and be guided into practice of 6 meditation techniques in accordance with each Chakra plus 5 additional practices of different meditations with emphasis on background, techniques & benefits.

Mantra:
Yoga Teacher Trainees will learn to chant and present yogic Mantras in the beginning and ending of yoga classes. Also we teach how to use Mantra to purify and balance the chakras. Also we will teach you techniques for Mantra Dhyana.

Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation):
Trainees will learn the 12 steps with points of concentration, breathing and Mantra. Also trainees will learn Surya Namaskar with variations

2-Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics:

Introduction of Yoga
We will explain and discuss the eight original limbs of Ashtanga Yoga: Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, etc. as well as Hatha Yoga, and how useful they are in modern life-style.

Yogic-Lifestyle
YTT students will learn Yogic diet, place, disturbance and helpful elements during practice and also achievements

Text books
We will give you an introduction to Patanjalis Yoga Sutras (Chapters One and Two), Hatha Yoga Pradipika and their major principles and subjects.

Ashtangayoga: YTT trainee will study Ashtangayoga " eight limbs of yoga" yama, niyama etc and their deep explanation and mental, physical benefits

Hathayoga: Yoga students are confused about the differences and similarities between Ashtangayoga and Hathayoga. AT PIYF, trainees will learn about both.

Speach: Teacher trainees will be required to give two 10-15-minutes talks on one of the Yoga topics or on a comparison between Yoga and another esoteric systems.

3-Teaching methodology:
Practical teaching methodology includes how to demonstrate poses, observe the class and assist other students. We will also teach the importance of correct and unambiguous language which is used to describe positions and teachings clearly.

4-Anatomy and Physiology:
Subjects will include the study of the anatomy and how it relates to Yoga, the endocrine system and what benefit Yogaprovides.

Physical Anatomy:
Subjects will include the study of the anatomy and how it relates with yoga, the endocrine system and what benefit yoga gives.

Subtle Anatomy:
Kundalini & Shatchakra: subtle anatomy is the yogic teaching about Pancha Koshas "five sheaths of body" and Ida, Pingala and Shushumna nadis. Students will get complete Information about practice for six Chakras - Muladhara, Svadhisthana, Manipura, Anahata, Vishuddhi, Ajna and serpent energy Kundalini - with the emphasis of shape, location, associated glands, petals, qualities, colors, stones, aroma-therapy, diet, yoga-practice, concentration, benefits, therapy, etc.

5-Practicum:
