About Me

My name is Lindsay Peters; I received my CYA200h certification in Hatha Yoga from Harmony Tree Studio October 18, 2015. I am currently studying psychology at the University of Manitoba and my future goal is to become a registered Yoga Therapist. I teach Hatha and Restorative yoga classes with an emphasis on mental health, stress and anxiety reduction, as well as providing the tools to help individuals live a healthy and balanced, healthy lifestyle.
I first started taking a weekly yoga class shortly after I was diagnosed with migraines. Yoga was recommended as a way to help cope with stress and anxiety. It did not take long for me to feel the effects of yoga, and to have these effects transfer to other areas of my life. I learned to notice what I was eating, how much water I was drinking throughout my day, and I started to pay closer attention to the events leading up to a migraine. Within the year I was taking two yoga classes a week and experienced a reduction in the frequency and severity of my migraines, better sleep, healthier food choices, and an overall feeling of contentment. It was because of the many positive experiences I have had with yoga that I wanted to share this with as many people I could. I believe that yoga has a benefit for everyone and I enjoy being able to help people on their own journey, whatever their reason is for practicing yoga.
