About Me

Yoga found me in 2008 after I returned from a missions trip in Brazil. After a powerful vision I had on the plane ride home, I was moved to go within and yoga helped me find the balance and peace I was needing in my life. I developed a strong relationship with the staff at Kula Oakville and I was inspired to take their teacher training program in 2010. The intention of taking the program was not to teach but develop a deeper practice and what it could teach me. It was only until this past year I felt I was ready to teach - to teach from a place where I have embodied a practice that I believe empowers and uplifts me. I value the Canadian Yoga Alliance approach. I'm choosing to not renew my existing membership with YogaAlliance.org because I find the affiliation about prestige and it wasn't giving me the true network and benefits as a yoga practitioner living in Canada. I look forward to the benefits of your organization, specifically the applying for insurance and begin my teaching practice in a therapeutic and mindful way that honours the idea of movement with breath. This I believe is the only way one can benefit from yoga because this is what the practice has always been about.
