Centre Yoga is a school that is devoted to bringing students authentic yoga practices along with accurate foundational knowledge. Its main philosophical program is rooted in the tradition of high Tantra of Shaiva of Kashmir. And its main asana program follows its roots to the Anusara and Iyengar schools. It seeks to give its small groups of students the highest understanding of what yoga is, continuously and openly evolving to serve the student and the rising teachers efficiently and appropriately.
Course Outline
Centre Yoga's 500-hour Teach Yoga Program extends over a two year period. The first year is called Deepen & Refine, and is a 250-hour foundational course, which is meant to give students the necessary space, learning material and skilled guidance to bring their own yoga practice and intellectual understanding to a deeper level, including āsana, prāṇāyāma, chanting, contemplation, study of texts. Deepen & Refine is the prerequisite toTeach Yoga, a 250-hour program focused entirely on learning how to skillfully and authentically teach alignment based yoga infused with profound philosophical teachings. New teachers graduate with several hours of assessed teaching experience and continued mentorship from the main faculty.
