SUMMARY OF POLICY

The policy period covers one year from the date on your certificate.

The premium covers yoga/pilates or any other modality indicated on the front page of the application. Coverage will apply for all the modalities applied for and for which the applicant has a certificate of qualification.

Upon acceptance of the application and payment, a certificate of insurance will be issued for each individual.

The above premiums are subject to 8% pst for residents of Ontario.

The above policy is written on an OCCURRENCE FORM which will provide protection indefinitely into the future. There is no deductible on this policy.

Professional Liability is defined "through your actions or non-actions, you cause injury to a third party during the course of your professional service." (what you do in your instruction)

Commercial General Liability is defined "bodily injury or property damage you cause to a 3rd party, excluding professional liability. (slip and trip kind of claims)

This policy does not provide protection for any kind of office or studio equipment, it is strictly a liability policy which is bodily injury/property damage to SOMEONE ELSE. The policy provides protection no matter where the instructor is teaching (including outside of the studio). The employees who teach yoga/pilates or perform any of the other modalites and have certificates as proof of qualification should apply for their own individual policies. An employee such as a receptionist who is working on behalf of the insured will be covered for the duties performed on behalf of the employer (this is a non teaching/non professional employee). The policy provides protection for both professional liability and commercial general liability which is the slip and trip type of claims.
